Awards

  • In Spring 2014, Roxbury Public Schools received the New Jersey League of Municipalties Mayor's Committee on Life Sciences STEM designation for the following programs in the district:

    • Trout in the Classroom Program at Lincoln-Roosevelt School
    • District Science Fair Program
    • District Gifted & Talented Program
    • Kennedy STEM Lab Program
    • Digital Learning Day/High Touch High Tech Program at Kennedy School
    • Earth Day Celebration Program at Franklin School
    • Summer Enrichment Camp at Roxbury Community School
    • Robotics Programs at Roxbury High School and Eisenhower Middle School 

     

    Roxbury High School:

    RHS was the 93rd-ranked public high school in New Jersey out of 328 schools statewide in New Jersey Monthly magazine's September 2012 cover story on the state's "Top Public High Schools", after being ranked 115th in 2010 out of 322 schools listed.

    Schooldigger.com selected Roxbury High School as tied for 148th out of 381 public high schools statewide in its 2011 rankings (an increase of 1 position from the 2010 ranking) which were based on the combined percentage of students classified as proficient or above proficient on the mathematics (82.4%) and language arts literacy (95.1%) components of the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA).
    In 2013, RHS' Band Program received the Sudler Flag of Honor.

    Eisenhower Elementary School:

    During the 2005-2006 school year, the 8th grade band (graduates of 2010) achieved a first place award in the Music Festival at Hersey Park in Hershey, PA. Directed by Trish Baggs, the band had an average score of 95.0.
     
    The other band director in the school is Mr. Jeffery Conrad. During the 2008-2009 school year, the 8th grade band (graduates of 2013) achieved the second place award in the Music Festival at Hersey Park in Hershey, PA. The choir received first place.

    During the 2004-2005 school year, Eisenhower Middle School's 8th grade national science team placed 2nd in the state and 26th in the nation.

    Franklin Elementary School:

    A+ For Students - “Caldecott Book Award”

    The Roxbury School District is an“Asthma Friendly School District” as certified by The Pediatric-Adult Asthma Coalition of New Jersey.
