  • After-School with Mad Science (Grades K-6)

    Mad Science is the world's largest science enrichment provider. We pride ourselves on the unique and interactive way of teaching students how to make science fun! Using an extremely hands-on and enthusiastic approach, we give students the chance to become Mad Scientists. We have FUN down to a science!

    Enroll today! Space is limited! The program must have a minimum of thirteen (13) students to run at each location. 

    Please look at the days/dates carefully, as there are no makeup classes for individual absences. Makeup classes will only be scheduled for canceled classes. Students must take classes in the school in which they attend, except for the spring break camp.

    Fall 2023 Session 1 - Super Powered Sub Atomic Science (Grades K-4)

    Explore Radical Robots, the wild side of animals, and explore underwater life all in one program! Mix up some super science fun all about energy and take apart crazy machines! Get connected and dive into communication while understanding how cellphones work. We will also mix up some awesome physical chemistry! Bubble, pop, and fix while learning how to separate reaction!

    COST: $TBD/student for 6 weeks
    TIME: 3:20-4:20 p.m. (1 Hour)

    NJEA Convention Camp 2023 - Super Spies & Daring Detectives (Grades K-4)

    This program features fun-filled, hands-on, secret agent-themed science activities that allow kids to play detective, explore forensic science, sharpen their surveillance skills, and crack encrypted messages. Kids become super sleuths!

    Fall 2023 Session 2 - Brixology: Lego Based Program (Grades K-4)

    BRIXOLOGY sets the foundation for our next generation of makers! Kids learn about different types of engineering and then team up to construct a different engineering-themed project using LEGO® bricks. They learn about aerospace enginnering while assembling a space station. They explore mechanical engineering as they build boats and vehicles. That's not all, from carnival rides to drawing machines, mechanical animals to truss bridges; your future engineer will build upon their creativity to solve real-world design challenges, while developing their problem-solving and team-building skills. Let the tinkering begin!

    Winter 2024 Session 1 - School House Chess (Grades K-4)

    Schoolhouse Chess brings chess pieces to life using creative and animated personalities that enable students to learn the game in a fun and exciting way. Students become fascinated with imaginative chess characters that accelerate the learning process. Our instructors bring all the materials and supplies to your school and cover the rules and strategies of chess.

    COST: $145/student for 5 weeks

    Winter 2024 Session 2 - The Mad Side of Science (Grades K-4)

    Join us in the Mad Science club for some awesome hands on fun! Become a detective, an engineer, a chemist, a film maker and more! Take apart the earth as you explore volcanoes, or become a toy maker as you explore the science of toys! Create crazy cool concoctions in the kitchen as you cook up chemistry, and explore the human body as we learn what makes us tick! Every week we explore a new and exciting topic and create something to take home! Let's get Mad and Silly with Mad Science!

    COST: $145/student for 5 weeks

    Spring Break Camp 2024 - Crazy Chemworks (Grades K-4)

    Welcome to the world of chemistry! Children make gooey slime, experiment with different reactions and learn to use the tools that chemists use. Polymers and catalysts are only two of the fascinating concepts young scientists explore in this thrilling trip through the chemistry lab!

    COST/TIME:

    Spring 2024 Session 1 - NASA: Acdemy of Future Space Explorers (Grades K-4)

    Learn about rocket science, supernovas, and more in this out of this world program. Fasten your seatbelts as we take a journey into outer space! We will explore the cosmos, from stars, to planets to asteroids and comets; you will truly be ready to blast off after every class! This program was designed in an an exclusive partnership with NASA, and is not offered by any other enrichment organization.

    COST: $170/student for 5 weeks

  • Register now online at the Mad Science website. 


    The Roxbury Community School is self-sufficient and a course/program must pay for itself. If there are not enough registrants, the course/program will be canceled. The Coordinator reserves the right to remove from class those individuals who have not paid tuition.

    There are no refunds for courses/camps AFTER the program starts. All cancellations must be received in writing to comschool@roxbury.org at least seven days prior to the start of the class for a refund. After that date, there will be no refunds.
