Work Experience:

The 2021-2022 school year marks my 21st year in education.  I taught middle school and high school Social Studies for a total of 10 years in Pompton Lakes, Wildwood, Mountain Lakes, and Roxbury.  This will be my 11th year as an administrator.  All 11 years have been here in Roxbury.  I served as an assistant principal at Roxbury High School for 3 years, principal at Eisenhower Middle School for 4 years, and I am entering my 4th year as the principal at Roxbury High School.  Along with being a teacher and administrator, I have an extensive coaching background.  I have coached football for student-athletes from kindergarten to college.  I have also coached: field hockey, wrestling, boys and girls basketball, baseball, and lacrosse.  My cumulative experiences have provided me with a variety of perspectives and have allowed me to work with students from 5-22.

Philosophy

All kids can learn.  In education, it is important to understand that all children can learn.  Throughout the course of any lesson, students may learn different things.  It is imperative that we educate the whole child.  Supporting our students emotionally, socially, and academically will provide the students of Roxbury High School with the opportunity to learn in all aspects of life.

Who Am I

Originally from Philadelphia, I grew up in Wildwood and have been in northern New Jersey since college in 1996.  I am a former US Marine.  I served in the reserves from 1997-2001.  I live in Denville with my wife and 17-year-old twins Paddy and Shea.  Paddy and Shea are members of the class of 2022 at Morris Knolls High School.  I have been in the Roxbury School District for 15 years in a variety of capacities.  I am grateful to be your principal and appreciate the relationships I have been able to establish with all of our community stakeholders.
