Work Experience:

I am going on to my 12th year in education with experience as an educator and administrator. I started my career as a Physical Education and Health teacher, Head Girl's Soccer, and Head Girl's Lacrosse Coach at Jefferson Township High School from 2009-2017. For the past 4 years, I have served in many diverse administrative roles at Jefferson Twp. High School Middle School (Assistant Principal), Hackettstown Middle School (Assistant Principal, Acting Principal), Great Meadows (Principal). I have had the unique privilege to work with students at the administrative level as a Principal and Assistant Principal in grades PK-12. My diverse experiences as a teacher and building leader have been essential in developing me into the leader I am today.

Philosophy:

I believe it is our job as educators to meet students' needs not only academically but socially and emotionally. Each student is unique, and we must be willing to create a safe and stimulating environment in which all students can experience success.

Who I Am:

As a graduate of RHS, I am a true Gael. As an RHS student, I played soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. I was also a member of the band and dance program. I don't believe I would be in the position I am today if it wasn't for the influential teachers and coaches that inspired me at RHS. Another fun fact about me is that I am an avid traveler. I have traveled to over 20 countries.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time at the Jersey Shore!

Work Experience

For the past 13 years, I have been working in education as a special education teacher in the high school setting.  Throughout this time, I taught in Glen Rock High School from 2009 to 2018 where I was also the Anti-Bullying Specialist, Head Baseball Coach, and Assistant Football Coach.  While in Glen Rock, I was also involved with many committees including Professional Development, School Improvement and School Climate.  From 2018 through 2022, I was teaching special education in Pascack Valley High School located in Hillsdale, NJ.   There, I was a co-creator of a mentorship program involving special education students, member of the I&RS team and School Climate/Attendance Committees.  While serving as a teacher in Pascack Valley, I was able to attend and graduate with a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University.

Philosophy:

Educate the whole child by providing a safe and effective environment where all students can thrive regardless of background or ability. Each student has unique abilities which provide opportunities to flourish. As educators, our job is to inspire each student to commit to themselves providing the support and resources needed for individual growth and success.

Who Am I:

I was born and raised in New Milford, NJ where I attended and graduated from New Milford High School.  Growing up, I developed a passion for athletics playing football, basketball and baseball throughout my high school career.  After graduating high school, I attended William Paterson University where I majored in Elementary Education, Special Education and History. While in college I was lucky enough to meet my future wife, Lauren, who is also in education teaching Language Arts in the middle school setting.  After getting married, my wife and I moved into White Meadow Lake located in Rockaway Township where we are raising my two daughters Avery who is 7 and Sophia who is 4.  As a family we love to go swimming in the lake, hiking, traveling, and playing sports.  I am very excited to become a member of the Roxbury family and look forward to working with the amazing staff, students and community.
