Fun with Recycling at Nixon Green Fair
ROXBURY, NJ (October 11, 2022) – Nixon Elementary School, with the help and organization of the Nixon School PTA Green Team, made recycling fun last Friday for the PreK-4 students at its annual green fair. Students played games, made crafts projects, and learned about recycling on a fun-filled fall day.
Students rotated throughout five stations run by parent volunteers and staff members. Stations included weeding the Husky Garden to prepare it for winter, running a recycling relay to make sure trash and recycling went into their respective containers, building forts and tunnels to play in with cardboard, making recycled bottle Halloween spiders in preparation for the Haunted Hallways, and learning about the Morris County MUA recycling and stormwater management program from the Morris County MUA and Roxbury Clean Communities.
Roxbury Schools encourages partnerships with local organizations to help teach the students of Roxbury about going green and living a more sustainable life.
