Fourteen Roxbury High School Students Accepted into Region Honors Ensembles
ROXBURY, NJ (January 14, 2025) - Fourteen Roxbury students successfully auditioned for the North Jersey School Music Association Region High School Honors Band and Choir. These ensembles are comprised of the top high school musicians across northern New Jersey. Six students were accepted into the honors bands and nine made it into the choirs.
Congratulations to Roxbury High School Band students Alex Fullam (11) and Michael Tomassi (10) for making the Wind Symphony, and Kha Nguyen (12), Caden Scire (11), Landon Whitney (12), and Avery Maida (10) for making the Symphonic Band. In addition, both Alex Fullam and Michael Tomassi placed first out of all students who auditioned in their sections and will be the principal trombonist and mallet player respectively for the Wind Symphony. Both honors bands will be performing at Parsippany Hills High School on Sunday, January 26th at 3:00 pm.
Congratulations to Roxbury High School Choir students Kaleigh Bodtmann (11), Joseph Borda (11), David Doherty (12), Jasper Fernandes (11), Cara Goldstein (10), Elizabeth Ricucci (11), Liam Schlam (9), Caden Scire (11), and Breena Van Hook (11) on this great accomplishment. They will be performing at Morris Knolls High School on Saturday, February 1st at 4:00 pm.
The mission of the North Jersey School Music Association is the advancement of music instruction in Northern New Jersey’s educational institutions at all levels that provide in-service and enrichment opportunities for practicing and retired teachers and prospective music educators, as well as sponsoring various festivals and performing groups for K-12 students.
