Franklin PTA Holds Family Fun Healthy Hydration Event

ROXBURY, NJ (April 23, 2021) – Thanks to a $1,000 grant sponsored by Nestlé Waters North America, Franklin Elementary PTA in Roxbury Township was able to host a Healthy Hydration Family Fun Day last Saturday at Horseshoe Lake. This event was a fun, hands-on opportunity for families to learn about the importance of healthy living, healthy hydration, and choosing water.

Franklin families and staff in attendance were able to sample fun fruit-infused water, learn about sugar in beverages, participate in fun physical activities, meet registered dieticians, and earn chances to win prizes!

Leading up to the event, the Franklin PTA shared information with families on the importance of water and even had families track their water intake with a fun photo contest and chart. Individuals who submitted their chart usage were entered into a raffle drawing. Those three random winners will be selected on Monday, April 26th.

To help make this event more fun, the Franklin PTA had local businesses in attendance to promote their health and wellness programs like The Little Gym of Roxbury, Three Danes Wellness, Circle Bowl, Randolph YMCA, Kwan Tae Kwan Do, and dieticians from ShopRite.

They also received support from Roxbury Recreation, Roxbury Recycling, ShopRite or Succasunna, BJs Wholesale Club in Ledgewood, and a few Roxbury High School students.

Franklin School PTA was one of 25 local PTAs to win a $1,000 grant. In conjunction with its national brand Nestle Pure Life, the grant enabled Franklin to educate families about the importance of drinking water as part of National PTA’s Healthy Hydration program.
