Early District Fun Facts
- District established in 1894
- 1903 - 1904 the "Gray Building" was built. (Serving grades K-12)
- The first graduating class from Roxbury was in 1907
- Roughly 100 students were enrolled at the Gray Building
- Co-ed sports and arts were part of the curriculum from the start
- The Gray Building had no indoor bathrooms and the first students had to use outhouses.
- A bell was rung at the top of the Gray Building to tell students to go to class. ( \the bell is now in the front of the building).
- 1915 the Lincoln Building was planned due to overpopulation. The Gray Building still held classes after the construction of the Lincoln Building
- The Roosevelt Building was constructed and served as the district high school starting in the mid-1930s.
