•  Early District Fun Facts 

    • District established in 1894 
    • 1903 - 1904 the "Gray Building" was built. (Serving grades K-12)
    • The first graduating class from Roxbury was in 1907 
    • Roughly 100 students were enrolled at the Gray Building 
    • Co-ed sports and arts were part of the curriculum from the start 
    • The Gray Building had no indoor bathrooms and the first students had to use outhouses. 
    • A bell was rung at the top of the Gray Building to tell students to go to class. ( \the bell is now in the front of the building).
    • 1915 the Lincoln Building was planned due to overpopulation. The Gray Building still held classes after the construction of the Lincoln Building 
    • The Roosevelt Building was constructed and served as the district high school starting in the mid-1930s.
